The Balmoral is located at Edinburgh's most prestigious address, No. 1 Princes Street, where the Old Town stops and the New Town begins. Our hotel's majestic clock defines the city's skyline, and since the day we opened in 1902 it has run three minutes fast to ensure our guests will never miss their train.

Your key responsibilities

Rocco Forte Hotels is a collection of iconic hotels that respects the individuality of location and its team members, encouraging them to be their natural selves while providing a local, authentic experience to our guests.


As a valued part of the Forte family, you will:

Assist in supervising all security operations across the hotel Be responsible for the safety and security of our hotel guests and team members Manage any security matters with a cool head & decisive action Be confident in using various IT systems and working within a security environment Support the Security Manager with the day-to-day operations Assisting with training and compliance matters Must hold a valid Door Supervisor SIA License Work closely with hotel departments

Other requirements

Advanced First Aid certification is desirable but not mandatory First Aid at Work certification is required

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a security management role High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to remain calm under pressure Previous safety and security experience in a five-star environment High personal and professional standards Excellent communication skills with team members and guests A passion for delivering service excellence Genuine pride in their work Lead by example Team spirit and trustworthiness

The successful candidate will work a flexible rota, including day, evening, and weekend shifts, to support the effective management of security operations across the hotel.
