Job Introduction

We are currently looking for

Barman

to join our team at The Royal Academy of Arts (Members only area), London to deliver a world class guest experience. Our Cafes and Restaurants are located amongst inspiring and breath taking masterpieces within Burlington House.


As a Barman in a premium members-only venue, you are responsible for delivering high-quality beverages and excellent customer service to enhance the guest experience. Working under the guidance of the Head Barman, you will prepare and serve drinks efficiently, maintain the bar area to the highest standards, and contribute positively to the bar team's success.


Main Responsibilities

Drink Preparation & Service



Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and quality standards. Greet members and guests warmly, delivering attentive and personalised service. Maintain knowledge of the drinks menu and provide recommendations where appropriate.

Bar Maintenance & Organisation



Keep the bar area clean, organised, and well-stocked throughout service. Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and basic inventory checks. Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and safely used.

Compliance & Safety



Follow licensing laws, responsible alcohol service policies, and health & safety procedures. Report any issues or incidents promptly to the Head Barman.

Team Support



Work cooperatively with the Head Barman and bar team to ensure smooth operations. Attend training sessions and participate in continuous learning to improve skills.

The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience as a Barman in a premium hospitality setting preferred. Good knowledge of cocktail preparation, spirits, wine, and service techniques. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining composure and professionalism. Understanding of licensing laws and responsible alcohol service. Flexible and reliable team player with a positive attitude. Willingness to learn and develop skills continuously. Presentable, polite, and customer-focused.
