Barista - SAN LORENZO Bistro and Deli, Hatfield (St Albans)

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and hardworking Barista to join our vibrant team at our Bistro and Deli in Hatfield, St Albans. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service, preparing high-quality beverages, and supporting the smooth running of our daily operations. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a warm, welcoming environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards.

Italian-speaking candidates are preferred. A driving licence and access to a car are required.
Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffees, teas, and speciality drinks, ensuring quality and consistency. Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and manage transactions efficiently using the POS system. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including equipment, counters, floors, and seating areas, in line with food safety standards. Assist with simple food preparation such as assembling snacks, sandwiches, or light meals. Handle general tasks such as clearing tables, washing plates, and supporting overall shop hygiene. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations. Manage multiple orders at once while providing excellent customer service. Restock supplies as needed to keep operations running smoothly. Uphold the company's standards for cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction at all times.
Experience

Previous barista experience is preferred but not required--training will be provided for the right candidate. Knowledge of food safety standards is beneficial. Experience working in a busy customer-facing environment is advantageous. Basic food preparation skills are useful. Strong time management and multitasking abilities, especially during busy periods. Basic maths skills to handle cash and card transactions accurately.

Pay: 12.21 per hour
