Duties

Supervise kitchen staff and manage daily operations to ensure efficient food preparation and service. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, adhering to established recipes while also innovating new menu items. Ensure that all food produced meets the highest standards of quality, presentation, and taste. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, following strict food safety guidelines. Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and teamwork. Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements as necessary to enhance efficiency.

Experience

Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods. Previous supervisory or team management experience is essential. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen operations. Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on fostering teamwork and collaboration among staff. A passion for cooking, creativity in menu development, and an eye for detail are highly valued.
