Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Coffee Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our vibrant coffee shop at Ori Caffe within the John Lewis Store in Liverpool One. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, strong leadership skills, and experience in food preparation and service. This role involves managing a team, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the coffee shop team to ensure smooth operations. Train and mentor staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and customer service standards. Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and serving areas, adhering to food safety regulations. Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and ensuring proper storage of food products. Assist with food production and preparation as needed, ensuring quality control at all stages. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration among staff members. Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally to enhance the overall guest experience. Implement operational procedures that improve efficiency while maintaining exceptional service standards.

Skills

Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or coffee shop environment. Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively. Experience in food preparation, cooking, and culinary practices is essential. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production. Excellent hospitality skills with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service. Previous barista experience is an advantage, along with familiarity with coffee brewing methods. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customers alike.
