The white Horse in Tilbrook, PE28 0JP. Is a family run business which focus's on great food and excellent beer. Our food is prepared fresh daily using local suppliers and fresh ingredients.

Your role as Commis Chef:

We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and driven Commis Chef to join the White Horse team. This is a great opportunity to join a family run company with focus on great food and service.

For the Commis Chef position we are looking for someone passionate and enthusiastic about great food and customer service. You should have some basic kitchen skills and an understanding of health and safety and be looking to start or develop your career in the kitchen. This is the perfect position for a Commis chef looking to learn as you can develop whilst being supported by our skilled and friendly team.

Your main duties will involve:

Accountable for food safety and hygiene within the specified kitchen areas Input to menu development as required Prepare fresh foods to an exemplary standard on a daily basis Be responsible for achieving the food margin through portion control and management of raw ingredients Stocking shelves and ensuring stock is securely stored at the correct temperature and correctly rotated Ensure that all health & safety directives are followed in the preparation of food

Ability to work on your own initiative Desire to learn, improve and train from those around you A proud individual that always strives to deliver their best Passion for fresh food Minimum 1 years' experience in a kitchen environment A methodical, calm and organised approach to work whilst working under pressure Precise planning and organisation ability Ability to give and receive fair feedback where appropriate Level 2 in Food Safety in Catering or equivalent
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 10.00-13.00 per hour
