The post is based in Bridgwater House. It is a hybrid role generally working Monday and Friday at home and Tuesdays to Thursdays in the office. The post is contracted for 37 hours, and flexi applies. 30 days annual leave Opportunity for further learning to enable progression within the housing service and the wider Council Permanent role


What will I be doing?



You will be working alongside partners such as EDFe to project and contract manage new and existing housing initiatives in the West and North of the County to mitigate the displacement of vulnerable households in the private rented sector as a result of workers moving into the area to work on the Hinkley new nuclear project - and you'll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:


Working with internal colleagues in Homelessness, other Council services and partners to Commission new housing initiatives to support vulnerable households with housing support such as rent deposit schemes Undertaking and managing contract reviews of existing contracts and grant agreements with Providers funded via the Housing mitigation funding Providing support to the HPC Programme Manager and Head of Commissioning Existing Provision to review the Accommodation Strategy and report outcomes to the various Hinkley Monitoring Boards


What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?



We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you have:


The ability to contract manage new and existing schemes and initiatives. Good communication and literacy skills, and the ability to work in partnership, codesigning and commissioning projects with key partners and internal colleagues. Convening and recording meetings to ensure an audit trail of governance for the significant funds allocated to accommodation mitigation. A good grasp of managing and monitoring budgets with the skill to work with spreadsheets and be able to manipulate data using for example Pivot Tables. Some experience of obtaining and utilising data to support business cases. Ability to research and come up with innovative solutions to housing problems.
