Job Purpose:
To identify, recognise, support and improve the lives of unpaid carers living in East Lancashire.
Implementing clear, dynamic, innovative and effective communications & fundraising strategies and practices.
Producing high quality and professional communications alongside effective fundraising practices which help to achieve business objectives and goals.
Planning and delivering communications & fundraising to key stakeholders including staff, carers, volunteers, partner organisations and members of the public of all services and support. Enhancing diversification of income.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the charity in raising awareness of all unpaid carers including identification, needs, issues and barriers and support available to them
Raise awareness of the charity's services and support by designing innovation and engaging marketing campaigns and undertaking a variety of fundraising practices
Develop, implement and manage all digital and social media platforms across the charity including promoting and raising awareness of all aspects of our services and support, trading and fundraising
Write, edit, co-ordinate, share and publish content across various channels, including our website, social media, digital, print and through integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns across the whole organisation.
Pro-actively planning, organising and implementing key national communication & fundraising campaigns throughout the year such as Carers Week, Carers Rights Day, Young Carers Awareness Day and other specific campaigns
Lead on fundraising initiatives including fundraising events, corporate sponsors, major donors, legacies and regular charitable giving
To increase fundraising income and meet annual targets around generating fundraising income
Submission of funding bids and grant applications
Develop positive working relationships and collaborations with the voluntary, statutory and private sector organisations
Develop high quality and professional publicity and marketing materials for the charity
Designing and publishing the charity's 6 monthly magazine, bi weekly e-bulletins and other key organisational documentation such as the annual report
Regularly publicising keys statistics and achievements
Support the charity with gift aid and other platforms for charitable giving
Developing strong campaigns to reach out and engage with hard to reach and hidden carers
Researching and keeping up to date on local policies, research and papers affecting carers
Monitoring and reporting on campaign activity across all digital channels
Using in-house Adobe In-design software to produce a variety of digital and printed fundraising & marketing materials
Work with local media leads including radio, newspapers and publications
Producing and distributing short films to raise awareness of the service during key events
Manage a fundraising budget
Organise and attending outreach and activities across the communities of East Lancashire to support in enhancing the overall communications
Develop collaborative and joint communication campaigns across, health and social care and education which meet identified needs of all parties
Raising awareness of the volunteering opportunities and successes across the charity
Maintaining and updating carer information boards across a wide range of health settings including East Lancashire Hospital Trust and GP practices
Having the ability to work flexibly including regular evenings and weekends, on own initiative and as part of a team
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall responsibility for successfully developing and maintaining all communications associated with the charity
To achieve personal and organisational targets
To fully participate in staff meetings, any sub-groups and mandatory training as and when required
Contribute to the development of carers services and Carers Link Lancashire
To undertake any other duties which may from time to time be required and which are consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the post and support the overall ethos, principles and practices of the organisation.
To ensure all fundraising activity complies with charity law, fundraising standards and the fundraising code of practice alongside the policies of Carers Link Lancashire
