Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of deli products. You will play a key role in ensuring food safety standards are met and that our customers receive high-quality food items. Your culinary skills and ability to upsell will contribute to a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Duties

Prepare and serve deli products, including meats, cheeses, and salads, in accordance with food safety standards. Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and upselling additional items. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, ensuring all equipment is sanitised and in good working order. Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours. Follow all health and safety regulations related to food preparation and handling.

Requirements

Previous experience in a culinary or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential. Strong food preparation skills with knowledge of food safety practices. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and managing inventory. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. A friendly disposition with a passion for helping customers enjoy their shopping experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
