Celino's Italian Delicatessen & Restaurant, is seeking an experienced and dynamic
Delicatessen Manager
to lead our busy Italian Deli. This is a hands-on role focused on customer service, sales performance, and smooth day-to-day operations.
Situated in a prime location in Partick, in the west end of Glasgow, our award-winning Deli operates alongside our very busy 120 seat restaurant. Our focus is on providing our customers with a fantastic experience by providing the highest quality Italian food and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
You will be expected to ensure the smooth operation of the Delicatessen, maintain high standards of service and contribute to the overall success of Celino's.
CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Ensure the highest standards of service
Engage with customers and solve problems promptly in a calm manner
Achieve and maintain a warm and welcoming ambience
Evaluate feedback, devise and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction
LEADERSHIP & TEAMWORKING
Lead, motivate and inspire the Deli team (upwards of 15 team members)
Delegate tasks effectively and demonstrate ability to manage rotas
Provide ongoing feedback, training and development opportunities for team members
Collaborate with the kitchen & restaurant teams to ensure seamless service
STOCK MANAGEMENT
Manage all aspects of stock control including ordering, receiving, storage and rotation
Maintain optimal stock levels to avoid shortages, over-ordering and waste
Implement and enforce FIFO practices, date labelling and quality checks
MERCHANDISING & PRODUCT PRESENTATION
Create and maintain attractive, authentic Italian merchandising throughout the store
Ensure deli counters, displays and shelves are immaculate, well-stocked and visually appealing
Plan product placement to encourage cross selling and impulse purchases
Develop seasonal, promotional and festive displays aligned with Italian food traditions
Regularly refresh displays to keep the store feeling dynamic and engaging
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE
Monitor and report on key performance indicators
Meet and exceed financial targets through effective sales and cost management
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
REQUIREMENTS
Essential
At least one year of management experience in a deli, other food retail environment or hospitality environment
Proven leadership abilities, able to motivate and inspire a diverse team
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and multi-tasking abilities
Strong focus on cleanliness and compliance with food hygiene standards
Proven ability to thrive in a busy, high pressure environment
Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, public holidays as required
Preferred
Experience of working in Italian delicatessen or restaurant and/or strong knowledge of Italian food
Food hygiene and safety certification
Personal License Holder
