Job Description

New Start Living Residential Ltd is a children's residential service for children aged 08 -18. We have an open vacancy within our organisation for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in our new residential home.

We are seeking an individual who can be a positive role model and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of the children and young people in the home.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience in a Deputy or Senior role looking to progress in their carer who can provide a high quality of care and support for our children and young people fostering positive outcomes alongside team leadership skills. Our homes are of a modern standard, and we believe in providing a safe and homely environment for our young people and staff.

Education / Qualities



Essential:



Have worked in a children's residential home for a minimum of 2 years within the last 5 years

Passion to work with Children & Young people

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent

Commitment to ongoing training either face to face or E-Learning Training

Full UK driving license

Experience of working within a Residential Children's Home

Knowledge:



Knowledge of the Children's Home Regulations 2015

Understanding of Health and Safety issues

Understanding of Care / Support Principles

Skills:



Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

Able to communicate in an effective and both written and verbal manner

Ability to display empathy to all

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Able to handle difficult situations with minimum supervision

Able to carry out household duties

Basic Administrative skills

Knowledge of the support Industry and surrounding regulations and legislation

Commitment to own professional and personal development

Personal attributes:



Available for work with flexible hours to meet the needs of each child

Pleasant manner with a smart appearance

Self-Motivated and can cope with change

Good planning skills

Sensitive to and aware of each individual daily needs

2 Satisfactory employment/education references, 1 Satisfactory character reference (if previously worked in childcare we will obtain all references for the past 5 years)

Full UK Driving Licence

Shifts Required :

42 hours per week 1 - 2 sleep in shifts per week On call rota
