Deputy Manager
to join our team and help shape positive futures for the young people in our care.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the
day-to-day running of the home
, ensuring that our children receive the highest standard of care in line with Ofsted regulations. You will be a role model to staff, promoting professional practice, safeguarding, and a child-centred culture across the home.
Duties
Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the facility, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Supervise staff, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance and resident care.
Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs, focusing on Children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Foster a positive environment that promotes resident engagement and well-being.
Manage budgets and financial resources effectively, ensuring operational efficiency.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate medical services.
Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and adjust care plans accordingly.
Maintain open communication with residents, families, and staff to address concerns and improve service delivery.
Ensure proper training for staff in areas such as long-term care practices, social work principles, and home & community care.
Requirements
Proven experience in a supported living or residential children's home environment is essential.
Background working with individuals with emotional and behavioural difficulties is highly desirable.
Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising teams within a healthcare setting.
Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed and that children are protected from harm
Knowledge of operations management principles related to child care facilities.
Excellent organisational skills with financial acumen for budgeting purposes.
Ability to develop effective relationships with residents, families, staff members and social workers.
A compassionate approach towards providing high-quality care for children from all different backgrounds.

Essential:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
At least 2 years' experience in a residential childcare setting
Supervisory/leadership experience
A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
Desirable:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
Full UK driving licence
Experience supporting children with complex needs or challenging behaviour
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: 35,000.00-40,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
