Role Overview
As Deputy Manager, you will:
Support the Registered Manager in leading the home's daily operations and take charge in their absence.
Implement individual care plans and ensure a safe, nurturing environment that supports children's growth and independence.
Lead and develop the care team through reflection, coaching, and supervision.
Manage safeguarding, behaviour risk support, incident reporting, and ensure regulatory compliance under The Children's Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards.
Liaise with social workers, families, education, and health professionals to promote positive outcomes.
Help shape service delivery, quality assurance, and family-centred care culture.
Essential Candidate Criteria
Level 3 Diploma
(or equivalent) in Residential Childcare, Children & Young People's Workforce, or Health & Social Care.
Proven
Deputy Manager experience
in a children's residential setting--preferably working with learning disabilities.
Strong understanding of Ofsted requirements, safeguarding law, and behaviour support strategies.
Full UK Driving Licence
- a must.
Ability to manage a small team, adapt to rota work including overnight shifts, and deliver consistent, high-quality care.
Desirable
