Job Introduction

Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home:



Full-time, Permanent



12 shifts per month,

average 3 per week (Shift pattern reduces as occupancy increases -- transitioning toward Mon-Fri flexible leadership hours)

15.50ph - 16ph

dependent on experience

38,448 - 39,456

estimated salary (based on 168 waking hours plus 12 sleep ins per month, usually 2-3 shifts per week)

Enhancement rates

available for overtime and bank holidays.

The Role:




As Deputy Manager, you'll play a key role in leading the home, supporting the team, and ensuring high-quality, child-centred care.

You will:



Lead shifts and deputise for the Registered Manager Support, guide, and develop the team through coaching, feedback & supervision Promote safeguarding and emotional safety every moment of every day Build trusted relationships with young people and help them grow in confidence and independence Oversee care plans, daily records, audits, and compliance Champion education, wellbeing, community engagement, and identity Help young people prepare for adulthood with practical life skills Represent the home in multi-agency meetings and reviews Model, encourage, and protect a culture of reflection, respect, and growth

Essential skills:



Level 3 Children & Young People qualification (or equivalent) At least 1 years' experience in a residential childcare setting Full UK manual driving licence Ability to be flexible with working days/hours to meet the needs of the home

Desirable skills (we can support you to achieve these):



Leadership experience in a residential childcare setting Level 4/5 Leadership & Management qualification Understanding of trauma-informed practice and PACE
