An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced
Deputy Manager
to join a well-established children's residential home providing care and support to young people with
learning disabilities and/or emotional and behavioural needs (EBD)
.
The home is a
3-bed service
, currently supporting
two mixed-gender residents
, and has been rated
Good
by Ofsted. You will be working as part of a small, values-driven organisation with a strong focus on
therapeutic, trauma-informed care
and
child-centred practice
.
This is a step-up role -- we are seeking a confident and capable Deputy Manager who can lead by example and work collaboratively with a Registered Manager to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home.
Take leadership responsibility in the absence of the Registered Manager.
Oversee and contribute to care planning, risk management, and safeguarding.
Lead and mentor a team of care staff, providing supervision and reflective practice.
Maintain compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Ofsted Quality Standards, and internal policies.
Promote a nurturing, structured, and safe environment that supports healing and positive development.
Liaise with professionals, families, and external agencies to advocate for each child's needs.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Proven experience in a Deputy Manager role within a children's residential care setting.
Experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and/or emotional and behavioural challenges.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and children's home regulations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards it).
Experience contributing to service development or Ofsted inspections.
