The Role
We are seeking an
Experienced Deputy Manager
to join a dedicated team at a 3-bed EBD children's home in
Herne Bay, Kent
. This home currently supports
1 young person
and requires a confident and capable leader to help shape the future of the service.
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in delivering a high standard of care, lead and mentor the staff team, and ensure the home meets all regulatory and safeguarding requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
Promote a child-centred environment focused on safety, emotional growth, and stability
Lead, mentor, and support care staff, ensuring consistent and therapeutic practices
Participate in the on-call rota and provide support as needed
Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards and care regulations
Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and team development
Requirements
Experience as a Deputy Manager
in a children's residential setting is essential
Proven background supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
Hold a
minimum Level 3 Diploma
in Residential Childcare
Have completed or Currently enrolled on Level 5 Diploma
in Leadership and Management
Must hold a
valid UK driving licence
and be able to drive for work purposes
A strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and regulatory frameworks
Working Hours
40 hours per week
Primarily
daytime hours
, scheduled to meet the needs of the service
Participation in
on-call duties
is required
