We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Deputy Manager
to join a children's residential home that provides safe, nurturing, and therapeutic care for young people with
Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
and complex needs.
As
Deputy Manager
, you will play a central role in supporting the Registered Manager, leading a committed team, and ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to feel valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
This is an excellent progression opportunity for an experienced
Team Leader or Deputy Manager
with a minimum of 2 years in children's residential care. You will be supported with ongoing training and professional development, with a clear pathway towards becoming a Registered Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Lead shifts and oversee the daily running of the home to ensure a warm, child-centred environment.
Support the Registered Manager with safeguarding, compliance, and Ofsted requirements.
Manage staff rotas, care planning, and quality standards across the home.
Provide coaching, supervision, and guidance to staff, enabling them to deliver consistent, therapeutic care.
Act as a role model, helping young people build resilience, independence, and positive life outcomes.
Contribute to a culture where every young person feels safe, respected, and able to thrive.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years' experience in children's residential care (Team Leader or Deputy Manager).
Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People (or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour management, and residential childcare standards.
Proven ability to lead staff teams and manage daily operations.
Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
