Salary & Package
31,000 - 36,500, plus 50 per sleep-in
200 welcome bonus (3 m) + 300 retention bonus (6 m)

What You'll Do
lead shifts (incl. evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, on-call)
and
office-based planning, QA, and staff development
Deputise for the Registered Manager - full responsibility for safeguarding, compliance, and decision-making when required
Coach and supervise the team; embed therapeutic practice and champion each young person's voice
Oversee rotas, staffing levels, and budgets; manage petty cash and resources
Drive quality assurance - audits, Ofsted readiness, action plans
Coordinate referrals, admissions, and robust care-plan matching
Build positive links with families, social workers, schools, and external professionals
Administer and audit medication safely
Lead recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of staff
Keep the home safe, homely, and fully compliant
Handle any reasonable task that keeps the home running smoothly
Who You Are
Essential
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and ready to complete Level 5 within 2 years
3+ years in residential childcare with at least 1 year in a senior role
Proven shift leadership, staff supervision, and safeguarding expertise
Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regs 2015 & KCSIE
Confident with rotas, resource management, and reporting
Emotionally intelligent, resilient, child-focused, and inclusive
Full UK driving licence and flexibility for shifts, weekends, sleep-ins, on-call
Desirable
Level 5 Diploma already held
Experience opening or registering a new home, or leading QA audits
Understanding of therapeutic models (PACE, Attachment, NVR)
