We are recruiting on behalf of a valued client who provides safe, nurturing homes for children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Their mission is to create places where children feel cared for, valued, and supported -- homes where positive experiences and lifelong memories are made.

We are now seeking a

Deputy Manager

to join one of their homes. This is a rewarding leadership opportunity for someone with experience in residential childcare who is ready to step up and help lead a warm, structured environment where young people can truly thrive.

What You'll Do

Lead the home in the Registered Manager's absence, including on-call duties. Support the smooth running of daily operations, staff supervision, and administration. Ensure every child has an individualised Care Plan created with their input. Work in partnership with social workers, families, and professionals. Manage rotas, support recruitment, training, and performance reviews. Lead team meetings, staff handovers, and ensure consistent communication. Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and meet Ofsted regulations. Support children with education, hobbies, and day-to-day routines. Help create a homely environment, including preparing meals and shared activities. Oversee compliance with health & safety, fire safety, and organisational policies. Contribute to reports, audits, and quality improvement across the home.
What You'll Bring

Essential:



Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Minimum 2 years' experience in children's residential care, including 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of safeguarding, care regulations, and Ofsted standards. Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills. Flexible, calm under pressure, and confident leading shifts. Full UK Driving Licence and right to work in the UK. A caring, approachable, and team-focused attitude.
