Your Role
As a
Waking Nights Residential Support Worker
, you will:
Monitor the safety and wellbeing of young people with regular checks
Respond to emotional or behavioural incidents using trauma-informed approaches
Provide reassurance and support to young people experiencing anxiety or distress
De-escalate challenging situations and follow safeguarding protocols
Maintain accurate records of incidents, observations, and welfare concerns
Carry out fire, room, and perimeter checks
Administer medication and maintain MAR records
Assist with overnight domestic tasks, including cleaning and laundry
Support breakfast preparation and morning routines
Deliver detailed handovers to ensure continuity of care
Take part in mandatory training, supervision, and reflective practice
What You'll Bring
Minimum 1 year of experience in residential childcare or a similar setting (preferred)
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it
Calm, nurturing, and observant approach with strong emotional resilience
Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
Understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care principles
Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential
