As
Deputy Manager
, you'll join a dedicated team committed to delivering personalised, compassionate care. You will support the Registered Manager in leadership, oversight, and delivery of high-quality, therapeutic support.
What You'll Be Doing
Leading by example: supervising, mentoring, and guiding the care team to maintain safe, nurturing, child-centred standards.
Supporting the Registered Manager in all operational aspects: rotas, budgets, compliance.
Ensuring robust care plans, risk assessments, and individualised support for each child, involving them and their families/advocates.
Acting as a point of accountability for safeguarding: managing incidents, reviewing welfare, ensuring learning is embedded in practice.
Promoting a culture of trust, consistency, and respect where young people feel heard, protected, and able to thrive.
Collaborating with external professionals - social workers, education, health services - to provide holistic support.
Deputising in Registered Manager's absence, ensuring the home remains safe and well-led.
What You'll Bring
Significant experience in children's residential care, with supervisory or leadership responsibility.
Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People / Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Ideally Level 5 in Leadership & Management or working towards
Strong awareness of safeguarding, relevant regulations, and quality standards (Ofsted etc.).
Excellent communication, coaching, and organisational skills.
Empathy, resilience, consistency, and a genuine belief in the potential of every child.
Ability to work flexibly, including sleep-in shifts, evenings, weekends.
Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
