Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious

Deputy Manager

to join a well-established organisation with a strong reputation for quality care. This is a fantastic

step-up opportunity

for someone with proven experience in children's residential care and a

Level 3 qualification

, ready to progress into a leadership position.

You will be based in a

4-bed home supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

. The home is currently rated

"Good" by Ofsted

and forms part of a wider group of homes, all achieving

Good or Outstanding

ratings.

Key Responsibilities



Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home. Provide leadership and mentoring to the staff team, promoting a positive, therapeutic and child-centred culture. Ensure safeguarding is prioritised and risks are effectively managed. Assist with compliance and quality standards in line with Ofsted requirements. Contribute to care planning, staff development, and quality assurance. Share responsibility for the

on-call rota

(1 weekend & 1 weekday evening per month across the group). Build positive relationships with children, professionals, and families.

Candidate Requirements



Essential:



Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Experience in a senior role within children's residential care, with the ambition to

step up into Deputy Manager level

. Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted standards. Excellent communication, leadership and teamworking skills.

Desirable:



Full UK Driving Licence. Familiarity with therapeutic approaches (psychodynamic or systemic). Interest in progressing towards a Level 5 qualification in Leadership & Management.

The Home & Organisation



4-bed children's home

(currently 2 residents, male).

Ofsted rating: Good

. Organisation operates

7 homes

, all rated Good or Outstanding. In-house training and development, including Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications. Access to therapeutic input, integrating psychodynamic and systemic principles.

Interview Process



Stage 1 -

Video Presentation

- 10-15 mins on:

Leadership & team support Safeguarding & risk management Regulations & compliance Quality of care Supporting children's outcomes
Stage 2 -

Final Interview

- Face-to-face or video at the main office with senior management & therapeutic lead.
