Who we're looking for...
We are looking for a driven, dedicated and experienced deputy manager, or a team leader who is ready for their next step in their career, to join our established and leadership team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the manager and working alongside our other deputy manager to provide overall leadership and management of our nursery. You will create a nurturing and stimulating environment, support the wider team, engage with parents and other leaders, ensure compliance with regulations, manage finances, and drive continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
? To promote and display the Evergreen Way, maintaining the highest level of professionalism at all times.
? To step into the manager's role in their absence.
? To develop trusting relationships with the parents and families and respond promptly to all queries.
? To create a friendly, welcoming environment for all our team, families and visitors.
? To lead, and be part of an effective team, supporting others wellbeing and asking for support in return when you need it.
? To communicate effectively with all members of the Evergreen team, children,families and other professionals.
? To support in the implementation of supervisions, and appraisals with your team.Provide support, guidance and opportunities for all team members to develop their knowledge, skills and practices.
? To facilitate team meetings and development days, to share your ideas, points of view and to contribute to decision making and encourage all members of the team todo this too.
? To assess, monitor and maintain a safe and secure environment for all children, the team families and visitors. To audit daily risk assessments, checks and registers to ensure they are completed correctly and reviewed on a regular basis.
? To ensure the necessary data is collected, maintained and stored securely for the correct length of time, both electronically and in paper form.
? To be actively involved in the planning, preparation, delivery and evaluation of theEvergreen curriculum, working directly with the senior early years teacher.
? To monitor that the daily routines and timetables are being adhered to, and that they meet the needs of the children. To work with the team to make changes needed and implement these consistently.
? To fully understand and adhere to the statutory and guidance requirements of theEarly Years Foundation stage (EYFS). To ensure other early years practitioners are doing this too and take prompt action as needed.
? To take on responsibility for all safeguarding and child protection duties, as designated safeguarding lead. To ensure that the team are confident in their responsibilities and understanding.
? To support the nursery director and manager with publicity, promotion and advertising as required.
? To support the manager to complete and maintain an ambitious, achievable development plan to move the nursery forward and continue to improve
? To support the induction of new team members following all statutory policies and procedures.
? To keep accurate, updated records of cash coming in and out of the setting.
? To understand, adhere to, and implement all Evergreen policies and procedures, and to ensure the full teams are also consistent in doing so.
? To work in a way which encourages equal opportunities for children and adults in the setting and to challenge any discriminatory practice in a positive way.
? To demonstrate effective time keeping, time management and organisational skills.
? To be fully invested in your own professional development, through taking part in internal and external training, peer observation, supervisions, and appraisals.
