Your role




This role will predominantly be responsible for providing childcare for one or more children, as well as providing support to extended family members and pets (especially horses) and ensuring that the home remains clean and organised. There will be a commitment to providing a safe, nurturing, and clean environment for the family to thrive. A proactive approach to diary management and household management is essential.

Childcare Duties



Providing attentive and nurturing care, ensuring children's safety and well-being is prioritised Planning and engaging in age-appropriate activities, including educational and recreational activities over the school holidays. Assisting with homework and school projects as needed. Preparing and serving healthy, balanced meals and snacks. Managing daily routines, including bathing, dressing, and bedtime on occasions. Transporting children to and from school, appointments, and extracurricular activities. Maintain open, ongoing communication with parents about daily activities. Encouraging and maintaining excellent relationship with grandparents by incorporating them within schedules. Communicating regularly with parents about children's activities, progress, and any concerns.

Cleaning Duties



Performing general cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of all rooms, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and living areas. Carrying out laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, and ironing clothes. Changing bed linens and making beds. Clean and sanitise kitchen appliances and utensils. Emptying rubbish and recycling bins regularly.

Household

Management



Organising and maintaining household supplies and inventory. Running errands such as grocery shopping and picking up supplies. Assisting with meal planning and preparation as needed. Ensuring toys and children's items are cleaned and stored properly.

Animal Management



Mucking Out: Removing manure and wet bedding from stables and applying fresh bedding. Feeding and Watering: Ensuring horses have fresh hay nets and clean water and appropriate feed throughout the day. Turnout and Grooming: Leading horses to and from paddocks, checking for injuries, and light grooming. Sweeping and Tidying: Keeping the yard, tack room, and feed areas clean and hazard-free. Exercise: Ride or lunge horses as part of their daily exercise routine, in accordance with daily instruction

Any task reasonably requested by your manager, including working at the Packing Centre.


Skills required

Extensive experience of taking care of multiple aged children. Ability to create a safe and engaging environment for children. Ability to engage and stimulate development of all age children. Experience of housekeeping and cleaning techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality. Experienced at providing nutritious, balanced meals. Experienced at following set routine schedules for meals and activities. Strong organisation and multitasking skills. Knowledge in stable management and riding of horses. Confidence in caring for 2 dogs in working hours. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. CPR and First Aid certification (desirable). Enhanced DBS check. Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Relevant experience




Previous experience as a nanny, teacher, cleaner, or in a similar household role. Confidence and experience in horse riding and horse care essential.
