The Opportunity



We are excited to be expanding our team and have an outstanding opportunity for a Qualified Solicitor/Legal Executive to join our divorce and finance team within our dynamic and friendly family department in our Newport or Cardiff office. You will be joining a well-established team, reporting directly to the department Directors, you will manage a varied caseload of both private funded and Legal Aided matters.

Your Role and Responsibilities



You will play a key role on a team committed to high standards and client care. Your duties include but not limited to:

Efficiently manage your own mixed case load Meeting time and fee targets. Providing legal advice and representation. Preparing and drafting legal documents. Attending client conferences Attending conference with counsel Attending hearings with counsel Preparation of statements and other court documents /pleadings To conduct own advocacy and represent clients at court hearings. Keeping up to date on changes and developments in family law practice and procedures.

Essential Skills and Experience



To excel in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:

At least 2 years PQE in Family Law. We will also consider applications from NQ with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Family Law Good knowledge of the public funding regulations and LAA procedures. Committed team player with the ability to approach team concerns fairly, foster culture of positive change. Excellent time management and organisational skills Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines with minimum supervision. Self-motivated and commercially minded, with a drive to generate new work and encourage cross referrals. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft packages and Case Management Systems. Law Society Family Law Panel and /or to be Resolution accredited or willing to work towards accreditation.
