Ferry Booking Representative/ Sales Support

Harbour Shipping Ltd is one of the UK's most successful third-party freight booking and customs clearance agents and are part of the Star Cargo Group. We are currently looking to appoint a candidate to join our Ferry Booking Department, on a full time, permanent basis.

Working in a team of five, reporting to the Department Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a small section of our client base while looking for opportunities to develop and expand the services we are providing to those customers.

To fulfil this role, we require a candidate who has a solid customer service background, is numerate and possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, good computer literacy and experience of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel.

Working Monday to Friday, working 8am to 5pm three weeks from four and 8.30am to 5.30pm on the fourth week, with one Saturday morning in six, 9am to midday, and one UK Bank Holiday per year 9am to midday.

Main tasks

Making bookings on clients behalf on ferry services throughout Europe

Charging of jobs to be passed to administration department

Telephone calls on a daily basis to existing clients (no cold calling)

Liaison with sales department for the completion of quotations to existing clients (providing information only - not producing quotations)

Based at our offices in Whitfield near Dover, this position offers a starting salary of 27,000 per annum with a review after a 3-month probation period, a contributory company pension scheme and twenty-two days holiday per year plus Bank Holidays
