Financial Controller

to take ownership of our finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, effective cost control, and strategic planning. You'll be working closely with senior leadership, shaping financial strategy, and leading a small team, while partnering with operations to keep our business agile and profitable.

Your Responsibilities

As

Financial Controller

, you'll play a key role in the financial health and direction of the business, with responsibilities including:

Leading all aspects of financial accounting, management reporting, and compliance. Preparing monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and board packs. Ensuring statutory reporting and tax compliance (VAT, Corporation Tax, etc.). Partnering with warehouse, transport, and operations teams to monitor and control costs. Analysing logistics KPIs such as cost per pallet, warehouse utilisation, and courier margins. Supporting pricing models and contract profitability analysis. Driving the budgeting process and leading rolling forecasts. Monitoring cash flow and working capital performance. Managing and developing a small finance team. Driving continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting tools.

What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from you if you have the following experience and attributes:

ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant. Proven Financial Controller experience, ideally within logistics, supply chain, or warehousing. Strong understanding of cost accounting and operational finance. Proficiency with financial systems (Xero, Sage, SAP, NetSuite) and Excel. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Desirable:

Experience with 3PL contract structures and client billing models. Exposure to automation or digital transformation projects in finance.
