We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Fish and Chip Fryer to join our team at the Fish and Chip Shop. The ideal candidate will have a passion for frying Fish and Chips and excellent customer service skills. This role involves preparing delicious fish and chips while ensuring a high standard of food safety and hygiene. You will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers and contributing to the overall success of our establishment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and fry fish and chips to the highest quality standards, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. Assist with the preparation of other menu items as required, demonstrating versatility in culinary skills. Engage with customers, taking orders accurately and providing recommendations to enhance their dining experience through upselling techniques. Handle cash transactions efficiently, utilising basic maths skills for accurate billing. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods, demonstrating effective time management. Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management, reporting any shortages or issues to management promptly.

Requirements

Previous experience in a fish and chips shop and food preparation environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided. Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing orders effectively. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is advantageous. Strong culinary skills with an ability to prepare various dishes beyond fish and chips is a plus. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely service during peak hours. A friendly disposition with a willingness to help customers and colleagues alike. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
