Location: Kittybrewster Complex, Aberdeen

Duration: Permanent, Full Time

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of \xc2\xa330,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 12 and above (currently \xc2\xa332,555 per annum / \xc2\xa316.92 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either \xc2\xa318 for existing PVG scheme members, or \xc2\xa359 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee\'s first FULL month\'s salary payment.

job purpose/about the role

The post holder will have secondary responsibility, after the Fleet Manager, for the Council\'s \xe2\x80\x9cOperator\'s licence\xe2\x80\x9d and will ensure that the Council meets the requirements of the licence and all associated legislation to assure compliance. If necessary, the post holder will have direct access to the Chief Executive and/or appropriate member of the CMT to ensure that the service is appropriately resourced and managed or to inform where action is required to ensure that the Council operates safely and meets the requirements of its \xe2\x80\x9cOperator\'s licence\xe2\x80\x9d.

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (or work towards attaining within 18 months of appointment)

HNC in Management Studies, software development or equivalent

Full UK driving licence

Category C driving licence (or work towards attaining within 18 months of appointment)

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

Extensive experience relating to Fleet Compliance and knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice.

Proven record at management level of the ability to manage people and teams, delivering required results within a customer focused organisation.

Proven ability to manage and deliver a range of projects to set deadlines.

Proven ability to achieve continuous improvements in delivery of services and performance of staff.

Proven experience of having established and maintained successful, complex
internal and external relationships across a variety of forums.

Proven experience of having effectively designed and developed policies and
procedures to ensure statutory compliance, improve service delivery and achieve
organisational aims.

Proven record of maximising resources and enhancing the quality ethos to ensure
efficiency and best value.

Proven interpersonal and team leadership skills.

Proven ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively with a range of
audiences.

Effective influencing and negotiating skills
