Overview

We are seeking a skilled Floor Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flooring installation, including the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. As a Floor Layer, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining different types of flooring in residential and commercial settings.

Responsibilities

Measure and cut flooring materials to fit designated areas accurately. Install various types of flooring, including carpet, vinyl, laminate, and hardwood. Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and ensuring proper adhesion for flooring installation. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during the installation process. Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to determine layout specifications. Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and painters, to ensure seamless project completion. Conduct repairs on existing flooring as needed, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal. Maintain a clean and organised work area throughout the project duration.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Floor Layer or in a similar role within the construction industry. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to flooring installation. Ability to read schematics and blueprints effectively. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks for extended periods. A background in carpentry is advantageous but not essential. A commitment to safety practices on-site at all times. Own transport is a must CSCS Card preferred Asbestos awareness certificate is a must
