Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Floor Layer/Multi-Skilled Operative to join our team to cover reactive and planned works . The ideal candidate will be able to install a variety of floor coverings including vinyl flooring as well as carrying out cap and cove vinyl installations to high standards in wet rooms, bathrooms, kitchens and healthcare environments. You will also be required to prepare surfaces, remove old flooring and ensure all subfloors are ready for installation by renewing the subbase if necessary. You will be required to carry out other duties e.g. basic tiling/ plumbing/joinery and willing to help other trades if needed . A DBS check is mandatory, and you must possess a full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

Install various types of flooring materials, including carpet tiles, vinyl. Prepare surfaces by removing old flooring, cleaning, and ensuring proper subfloor conditions. Use hand tools and power tools effectively to cut and shape flooring materials according to specifications. Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to determine layout and installation requirements. Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure seamless project completion. Perform construction painting as required to finish flooring installations. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Proven experience in floorlaying and construction or a related field is essential. skills multi trade ,with the ability to use hand tools and power tools proficiently. Familiarity with reading schematics and blueprints is highly desirable. Knowledge of various flooring materials and installation techniques. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills with the capability to troubleshoot issues on-site.
