WHAT YOU LL DO

You will join a growing and critical function within the firm. We are looking for a strong ER professional to join our team to provide subject matter expertise in the consistent execution and delivery of HR services in the areas of employee relations and investigations, HR policies and procedures, and special projects designed to improve overall Employee Relations within the firm. This role will sit within our Global ER Centre of Excellence and will specifically be partnering and supporting our Global Services team.

Global Services key focus areas will be:

  • Maintain framework & processes for how we approach broad topic of Employee Relations - e.g. performance, health, other talent concerns - including how we set best practice around probation period management, and together with the team, considering how we learn from exit interview feedback
  • Document and track GS employee relations cases across geographies & functions
  • Identify areas of opportunity, then partner with GS HR leadership to develop and deliver trainings to enhance knowledge and practices
  • If needed, investigate Employee Relations issues, complaints, and conflicts in the workplace including co-ordinating across HR leadership/ local teams for resolution, documentation and appropriate follow-up
More broadly across the Global ER team:
  • Work with the Employee Relations Senior director to resolve complex workplace matters including but not limited to conducting investigations in response to formal complaints, including interviewing appropriate parties, reviewing and gathering related documentation/data, drafting of summary reports and presentation of recommendations for effective resolution; track investigation progress through to completion
  • Develop strong relationships and act as a liaison between HR, Legal, and the business areas on employee relations issues.
  • Advises and trains a variety of audiences (leaders, human resources professionals, line managers and employees) in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing difficult employee situations and employee grievances. Develops new training content as needed.
  • Researches and explains laws and legal affairs concerning employment to leaders, line managers, and employees.
  • In collaboration with the Employee Relations Director and/or internal legal counsel provide effective guidance, advice and referrals on policies, procedures and laws and regulations in order to ensure compliance with policies and local employment laws.
  • Participate in the review, maintenance, and communication of HR policies and procedures in compliance with local employment laws.
  • Audit HR practices in conjunction with HR colleagues to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide rigorous data analysis and reporting solutions based on business needs, highlighting key trends in employee relations to actively drive proactive solutions to minimize reactive work and to improve levels of employee engagement; makes recommendations.

  • Working in a highly matrixed, cross functional organization
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships across the organization, with an ability to influence and advise on a wide range of ER & HR projects and/or compliance topics
  • Paying attention to the details and using an analytic mindset to connect dots to problem solve complex situations
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of data and related materials
  • Managing and preparing of materials / presentations for meetings
  • Creating and maintaining operational documentation and playbooks
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or in a related field
  • Proven experience working in a similar capacity
  • Experience with ER / HR compliance and workplace investigations - essential
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) and its use for reporting purposes.
  • Basic understanding of international taxation and immigration preferred
  • Must have excellent communication(oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, be self-directed and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal effectively work with employees/stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Ability to exercise and maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism
