To support our continued growth, we are looking for a dynamic Group HR Manager to join our senior leadership team, to lead and deliver our people strategy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering this across multiple dealerships, ensuring compliance with employment law, supporting recruitment and retention, and driving a consistent culture across the business that is aligned with both Waylands and our manufacturer partners, and supports our ambition to be a top employer of choice within the sector.
With responsibility also encompassing payroll, this role will oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll across the Group's sites, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations whilst maintaining robust payroll systems and controls.
Core responsibilities
Responsibility for the day-to-day Group HR functions supported by a team of two direct reports
Maintain systems, reports and process to ensure full compliance with legislation, proactively implementing changes as needed
Build Group strategy for attraction, development and retention of talent
Pro-actively implement and enhance current function ahead of planned growth
Manage ongoing compliance for personnel Health and Safety and training
HR responsibilities
Ensure the processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations is accurate, timely and complete across payroll and HR records
Maintain Group HR record and personnel files for all ongoing issues
Lead on any investigatory matters and build close working relationships with General Management team to ensure proactive management of potential colleague issues
Ensure all colleague management and performance review processes are maintained with active involvement in colleague issues and resolution
Advise and support managers with employee relations issues including performance management, disciplinary, grievance and redundancy
Anticipate the implications of new regulations and to determine the most appropriate method of implementing these changes
Develop and maintain company policies and procedures, including Employee Handbook
Payroll responsibilities
Ensure timely input of monthly payroll for the Group, working closely with managers to process monthly payroll data.
Calculation of SSP, SMP & SPP entitlement
Accurate and timely preparation of key HMRC submissions
