Job Description

Ferguson Transport & Shipping, as Port Managers at Kishorn Port and Dry Dock are currently recruiting for a Handy Person. Working hours are typically 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, however this is negotiable. This is a permanent role. Accommodation is available for the right applicant.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

Use a variety of tools and equipment such as electric saws, grinders, power drills where trained and competent to do so. Understand the basics of plumbing, joinery and electrical work. Assist with project work as directed by Line Management Ensure all work sites are tidied and cleaned after work has been completed. Record all maintenance work carried out in the relevant folders / forms. Record all preventative maintenance work carried out in the relevant folders/forms. Maintain a stock register for all tools, equipment and stock. Submit orders to ensure stock levels are maintained. Regularly maintain all tools and equipment. Keep all maintenance storage areas tidy and organised. Ensure all work is carried out in a safe and controlled manner. Report any damage, accidents or equipment/tools you deem to be unsafe. Ensure you conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times. General housekeeping tasks such as weeding/spraying of grounds, sweeping, salting walkways, emptying bins etc.
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred. An understanding of basic plumbing, joinery and electrical work is required. Applicants must have a driving licence.
