Lifeblood is an creative-led growth consultancy with a clear mission:
to build the UK's most effective growth system and team for profitably scaling brands.
We work with some of the UK's fastest growing DTC and subscription brands including Years, MuscleFood, Prepped Pots and Elbow Grease.
As Head of Creative Studio, you own the creative engine that drives paid social performance for our clients.
You will be leading a multidisciplinary team of 4 creatives to help drive better standards, more efficient processes and joined-up creative thinking by ensuring that outputs align to objectives across creative strategy, copywriting and production.
Your ultimate goal will be to support client retention for the agency, by
driving continuous improvement in paid media performance through increased creative volume, variation and velocity
in our clients' Meta & TikTok Ad accounts.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations
Daily
Keep the team motivated to deliver hundreds of diverse ad creatives each month
Provide leadership and candid feedback to the creative team as well as clients and creators to help drive continuous improvement
Develop an obsession over quality and attention to detail - not just in the work (e.g. brand standards, typography, layout), but also creative ops (e.g. briefing, file naming conventions, meeting agendas).
Full authority to sign-off ad creative and challenge briefs before they land with the client
Weekly
Act as the Creative Lead on key client accounts and support on analysis, reporting and consulting on full funnel Meta & TikTok Ad creative
Champion appropriate art direction for Meta & TikTok Ads (i.e. more polished for Meta; fast-cut and low-fi on TikTok).
Prevent client ad creative from being grouped under the same Entity ID on Meta, by delivering multiple hooks and diverse creative formats (e.g. animation; podcast-style; UGC; product statics etc) with messaging and art direction bespoke for each audience segment
Measure and report soft metrics such as thumb stop ratio, 75% video views and click through rate and hard metrics: spend, CPA/ROAS and new customer orders. Use this data to draw insight and actions.
Ensure that briefs and decision-making are rooted in marketing science, psychology and clear commercial objectives. Create hypotheses and success criteria for all creative tests.
Monthly
Review and continuously improve the end-to-end creative process with your team - everything from research and strategy to production and performance analysis
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive parts of the creative process (e.g. research and reporting). Work with an automation consultant to implement these.
Test generative AI models (e.g. Veo3, Nano Banana, Sora 2, ArcAds) and pragmatically integrate the best into our workflows
Plan client content shoots, running orders, props lists, roll calls - be willing to travel and act as an art director on set when necessary
Deliver for clients with your core creative discipline (e.g. design, copywriting, creative strategy) during busy periods to offload pressure and stay sharp.
Hold fortnightly 1:1s with your team, guide training plans and quarterly reviews
Support the leadership team on new client acquisition by attending industry events, contributing to proposals, social content and whitepapers - and being engaged on LinkedIn.
