Hartfield House Hostel is situated in Applecross, at the foot of the Bealach na Ba, surrounded by mountains and framed by the crystal clear waters of the Inner Sound.

Whilst your day job will be busy, and you will meet all kinds of interesting people, outside of work you can truly get away from it all. And if you enjoy outdoor activities, there is everything from mountain biking and road cycling to wild swimming, climbing and trail running available from the doorstep.

?We are recruiting a Hostel Manager to join our friendly team at Hartfield. We are a 4hostel and bunkhouse that together offer 50 beds.
?You will be experienced in hostel or hotel management, or have experience in a supervisory hostel/hotel role, be a great communicator who wants to work as part of a team but can also work solo.

About the role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:

provide professional, efficient and effective day-to-day business hostel management manage the housekeeping team, in a Senior Housekeeping role, ensuring that each shift is completed to standard. oversee the reception staff, dealing with any issues and providing training and line management produce weekly rotas, using the Bright HR system for administration with the team deliver a high level of service and standard, ensuring that the accommodation is clean, in good working order, secure, and safe ensure that the team are welcoming towards guests and complying with Hartfield ethos manage the guest experience, online and in person, including dealing with feedback, reviews and complaints in a timely and professional manner take all reasonable steps to ensure the health and safety and security of the guests, employees, volunteers and visitor at all times ensure statutory compliance, risk assessments, policies and procedures are adhered to and up-to-date assist in the marketing, promotion and development of the hostel so as to maximise the potential annual accommodation, food, beverage and other hostel sales income, thus safeguarding the financial viability of the hostel step in to housekeeping and/or reception shifts in cases of sickness, staff shortage or staff leave

```Qualifications```
- Previous experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of hotel/hostel operations and guest services
- Familiarity with human resources practices and procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
