Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and professional Hotel Night Porter to join our team at luxury boutique hotel on East Kent Coast. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a welcoming environment for guests by providing excellent customer service and maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the premises. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, customer-focused setting where attention to detail and hospitality skills are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

Security:

Perform regular patrols, monitor access, respond to incidents, and ensure guest and staff safety.

Guest Services:

Handle late check-ins/outs, answer phones, assist with luggage, provide information, and fulfil guest requests (e.g., booking taxis, delivering papers).

Front Desk:

Cover the reception desk, manage late bookings, and handle administrative tasks.

Cleaning & Maintenance:

Conduct deep cleaning (like floor waxing) and other maintenance tasks not possible during the day, plus tidying public areas.

Food & Beverage:

Assist with bar closing, prepare for breakfast (setting tables, coffee), and sometimes help with late room service.

Preparation:

Set up for the next day's events, conferences, or breakfast service.

Health & Safety

: Follow the company H&S policies, including Fire Safety.

Essential Skills:

Versatility:

Able to switch between reception, security, cleaning, and concierge duties.

Independence:

Works largely alone and needs to be responsible and think on their feet.

Customer Service:

Provides friendly, confident service to guests at all hours.

Responsibility:

Manages all overnight operations, including emergencies.

Requirements

Previous experience in hospitality or guest services is desirable but not essential Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills Friendly, approachable demeanour with a professional attitude Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if required Organised, reliable, and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently A positive attitude towards guest satisfaction and teamwork First Aid at Work certificate welcome but not essential.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 27 - 35 per week
