Salary/Benefits:

Salary is between 26,780 and 31,415 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.


Hours/Weeks:

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

About the role:





We are currently seeking a HR Advisor to join our HR and Payroll department at The Bedford College Group

.





As a HR Advisor, you play an important role in the success of our students through:


HR Advisory Support

- Act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, offering professional, confidential advice aligned with legislation and TBCG policies.

HR Administration & Systems

- Manage HR records, contracts, payroll changes, and system updates, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of all administrative tasks.

Casework & Compliance

- Support ER meetings, maintain GDPR-compliant records, prepare documentation for disciplinary and grievance cases, and respond to subject access requests

Team Collaboration & Development

- Contribute to HR projects, share best practices, attend training and events, and support cross-campus activities and College-wide initiatives.

Safeguarding & Values

- Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards, while embodying TBCG's values and promoting a respectful, inclusive team culture.

About you:




Qualifications & Experience

- Holds GCSEs in English and Maths, CIPD Level 3 (or Business Admin qualification), with experience in HR, ER, recruitment, and using HR/payroll systems.

Technical & Communication Skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong verbal, written, and proactive communication skills, and a good level of numeracy.

Organisation & Decision-Making

- Demonstrates excellent prioritisation, planning, and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines under pressure

Professionalism & Teamwork

- A supportive team player who builds strong relationships, maintains confidentiality, and represents the organisation with professionalism.

Adaptability & Development

- Capable of handling challenging stakeholders, adapting to changing demands, and committed to continuous personal development and cross-campus flexibility.

The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
