The Project Controller Group are a dedicated team of Finance Professionals based across multiple locations in the UK. Our purpose is to make sure that the projects we work on with clients follow all the right compliance guidelines and regulations, for finance and operations.
We bring specialist skills to the Deloitte Technology & Transformation business, supporting with risk management, making sure clients are charged properly and reporting on profit and loss. We're a real team and we support each other to work together on bigger projects. But we also give everyone the freedom to work independently, so you can grow and develop your career in your own way.
What skills and academic qualifications do I need?
We are looking for applicants who have obtained or are studying towards a minimum 2:1 and will have obtained their degree by September 2026.
You will need numeracy skills, attention to detail and communication skills. You will use these skills to develop within the role and will hone an ability to explain complex financial concepts, to support projects large and small, to deliver exceptional results for our business and for the clients that we serve. We expect you to have studied a Mathematical content subject including but not limited to - Chemistry, Accounting, Finance, Physics, Economics, Engineering and Computer Science.
What kind of work will I do?
As a
PCG Financial Controller
, you will have a field of vision shared by few others--you'll support running large and complex programme finances and give a clear view of project financial performance to help our business leaders make the right decisions. Some of the key activities you will be undertaking include:
Production of monthly Profit & Loss and financial status reporting.
Management of project financials, including creating codes, billing and collecting cash.
Opportunities to work with senior stakeholders and Deloitte's largest FTSE100 and global clients.
Using your technical skills, communication skills, and growing project accounting knowledge you will be a trusted advisor for our business leaders.
You will help shape our large-scale projects and help prevent and manage financial risks.
Where will I work?
At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you're in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.

How will I develop?
HCaaS' dedicated Learning & Development team ensures that a wide variety of training courses are offered to everyone which includes the opportunity to work towards a professionally recognised CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification. HCaaS will support you by paying for your tuition and granting you study leave towards gaining the qualification.
Through the PCG Graduate Programme you will also:
Learn business interaction skills such as Presentation Skills, Critical Thinking, Decision Making & Problem Solving, and Stakeholder Management, along with advanced Microsoft Office, and use of specific financial tools and methods.
Gain practical experience applying the theoretical knowledge from your professional qualification studies.
You will learn about the lifecycle of a project and the contribution of the Project Controller Group in that cycle.
You will learn how to prioritise work in line with client and business expectations, requirements and agreed turnaround timescales.
We will assign you with key people in the business to support you as you progress your career at Deloitte.
Our Sector Communities including Public, Private and Finance also offer the opportunity to upskill your knowledge in the market allowing you to better understand the clients you work with.
As an Analyst joining Technology & Transformation you will:
Be supported from your first day by our dedicated Technology & Transformation Early Experience team along with Early Talent senior sponsors from your team.
You will attend our amazing Analyst Induction Programme (AIP) alongside your Technology & Transformation Analyst peer group to learn about our company, culture and how we work - and to build your network here at Deloitte.
You'll get an opportunity to practice the key skills you'll need on client projects. AIP is an in-person event which includes engaging talks, group activities and immersive simulation challenges.
You'll meet many team members from your business area, including your People Leader and Resource Manager, and make a few friends along the way.
Following AIP, you will continue being set up for success for your future career in Technology & Transformation, you will move into more specific business area training for a few more weeks - all exciting and very relevant to your future client/project engagements.
You will have the opportunity to network with colleagues at all levels of seniority and have access to lunch and learns, mentors and more!
