We are seeking a talented and passionate employee with an expertise in North Indian food for the position of Chef to support our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of food safety and production, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hospitality and should be comfortable working a Tandoor. As a Chef, you will play a pivotal role in menu development, team management, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen.
Responsibilities
Develop and design innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation and presentation and recipe standardisation.
Mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs while minimising waste.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Train new team members on culinary techniques, safety practices, and kitchen protocols.
Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements as necessary.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within a busy kitchen environment in an restaurant serving North Indian (especially Punjabi) dishes
Strong culinary skills with a passion for cooking and creativity in food presentation.
Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management and supervising staff.
In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food production.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and front-of-house staff.
A commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences for guests.
Minimum experience of 3 years.
