Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian dishes, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation.
Oversee daily food production activities, maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality control.
Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure smooth operations.
Manage inventory levels for ingredients and supplies, conducting regular stock checks and minimizing waste through effective inventory control.
Collaborate with the restaurant management team to plan menus that cater to diverse dietary needs while highlighting regional Indian cuisines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations and safety standards.
Assist in catering events and special functions by preparing large quantities of food efficiently without compromising quality.
Lead by example in food handling, preparation, cooking techniques, and customer service to foster a professional and motivated team environment.
Requirements
Proven experience as an Indian Chef with a strong background in buffet-style food service within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Extensive knowledge of Indian culinary traditions, spices, cooking methods, and menu planning.
Prior banquet experience along with supervising or team management experience is highly desirable.
Familiarity with food safety standards, hygiene practices, and dietary department procedures.
Demonstrated ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently, including inventory management and shift coordination.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and maintain a positive work environment.
Experience in fine dining establishments or catering services is a plus.
