Duties
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the restaurant's menu and standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
Assist in menu planning, including the selection of seasonal ingredients and innovative recipes.
Manage inventory levels, ensuring that all necessary ingredients are stocked and properly stored.
Collaborate with team members to create a harmonious kitchen environment that fosters teamwork and creativity.
Monitor kitchen operations to ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner and meet quality standards.
Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety procedures, and restaurant policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook tandoor items including naan, roti, kebabs, tikkas, and other Indian breads
Marinate meats and vegetables using traditional Indian spices and methods
Operate and maintain the tandoor oven safely and efficiently
Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet restaurant standards
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with food safety regulations
Assist with stock control and ingredient preparation
Work efficiently during busy service periods
Curry experience is a plus
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Tandoor Chef or Indian Chef
Strong knowledge of Indian spices, marinades, and tandoor techniques
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
Team player with a positive attitude
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
