About the Role:
Bhuku Ltd is recruiting an experienced
Internal Quality Assurer (IQA)
to support our
Conflict & Mentoring
programme at HMP Pentonville. This programme delivers an
accredited Level 1 Peer Mentoring qualification
and provides learners with essential skills in conflict resolution, communication, and peer support.
The IQA will work closely with the Lead Tutor to ensure that assessment decisions are valid, reliable, and consistent, and that delivery is in line with awarding body and Ofqual requirements. You'll play a vital role in maintaining quality standards, supporting the tutor, and ensuring the programme exceeds expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Sample and quality assure learner portfolios and tutor assessment decisions.
Conduct observations of teaching and assessment practices where required.
Provide clear, constructive feedback to the tutor to support continuous improvement.
Ensure full compliance with the awarding body's requirements and contribute to external quality assurance visits.
Maintain accurate IQA records and contribute to standardisation and internal audit processes.
Uphold and promote Bhuku's commitment to high-quality delivery, safeguarding, and equality of opportunity.
About You:
Essential:
Hold a recognised IQA qualification (e.g. TAQA Level 4, V1, D34).
Experience quality assuring accredited qualifications, ideally in mentoring, employability, or personal development.
Understanding of current IQA processes, awarding body requirements, and Ofqual regulations.
Able to work independently and in partnership with the tutor and management.
Strong organisational, communication, and IT skills.
Desirable:
Experience working in a secure or justice-sector education setting.
Understanding of the prison education landscape and challenges.
