The Internal Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing relationships with an assigned portfolio of existing customers. The role focuses on maximising sales, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving business growth through proactive account management, product promotion, and identifying new business opportunities within the existing customer base.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Account Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of approximately 70 existing customer accounts.
Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key customer stakeholders.
Understand customer needs, business objectives, and product requirements.
Conduct regular communication with customers via phone, email, and in-person meetings (where necessary).
Sales and Business Development:
Promote and sell the company's full range of products to existing customers.
Identify and pursue opportunities to increase product penetration within existing accounts.
Ensure products are appropriately displayed in customer showrooms to maximise visibility and sales.
Drive regular and consistent orders from customer accounts.
Meet and exceed sales targets, including targets for specific product lines (e.g., fireplaces, stoves).
Identify and onboard new building projects within the customer base to drive sales of relevant products.
Develop and expand business within the social housing sector through existing accounts.
Identify opportunities to grow business through builder merchants and online stores
Customer Support and Collaboration:
Work closely with Customer Success Managers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with the marketing team to provide customers with necessary marketing materials and support.
Coordinate with other internal departments (e.g., logistics, finance) to ensure efficient order processing and customer satisfaction.
Reporting and Administration:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and sales activities in the CRM system.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to account management and sales performance.
Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to the Sales Manager
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience in an internal sales or account management role.
Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Solid understanding of sales principles and practices.
Experience with CRM systems (e.g., [Name of CRM System]) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of the company's products and the [Industry] industry is an asset.
