We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
Assist the head chef in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
Supervise food production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency
Manage and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment and ensuring effective communication
Oversee food safety procedures, including proper storage, handling, and hygiene practices in compliance with regulations
Support in menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management to minimise waste and optimise resources
Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained properly and report any faults or issues promptly
Assist with training new staff members on food preparation techniques and safety protocols
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety standards at all times
Experience
Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen setting is essential
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation across various cuisines
Previous experience working in a hospitality or restaurant environment is highly desirable
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a commercial kitchen setting
Experience in serving customers or front-of-house roles is advantageous but not mandatory
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
