We're looking for an experienced Contracts Supervisor, to co-ordinate the day to day running of projects from the first point of estimating through to confirmation, planning of the works and managing the performance and the on time delivery of projects
The role will come with the use of a company vehicle for work use.
Salary for the role is 45,000 - 48,000 with a generous bonus scheme and the opportunity to work overtime.
Location
Projects are completed throughout London (North & South) and into the Home Counties. Head office is based in Westerham, Kent. This would be the designated place of work when not out on site.
Performance & Delivery
Follow-up on leads and arrange quotations with potential clients.
Carry out site visits, perform estimates.
Formulating fully costed quotations, sending these to the client and following them up.
Booking in projects, arranging materials and machinery.
Oversee, co-ordinate and manage teams on site, monitor work progress and performance, taking prompt action when needed.
Liaise with Client to meet expectations in relation to completed, outstanding or additional work.
Management and Relationships
Foster a good working relationship with the work force.
Establish and maintain excellent third party relationships.
Provide effective and confident communication, both one-to-one and in a group.
Manage team performance through effective communication and regular face-to-face contact, developing a healthy working environment and initiating teamwork.
Acting as a direct contact to discuss work, holiday requests, challenges and aspirations.
Adhering to HR processes and ensuring all matters are dealt with quickly and accordingly, through higher channels if necessary.
Monitor staff time keeping and attendance.
Client Care
As an ambassador for the company you are expected to demonstrate a positive, pro-active and professional manner, providing regular communication.
To understand the client's needs and work closely with these.
Health & Safety
To understand the law relating to Health & Safety, implementing the company's Health & Safety policy.
Ensuring the completion of accident and near miss reports.
To understand and implement RAMS and COSSH.
Work in agreement with company polices and procedures.
Responsibility for the security of Vehicles, Machinery, Buildings etc.
Keeping machinery and equipment in good working condition by reporting faults and arranging repairs.
Financial Management
To understand and operate within the company's financial procedures.
To estimate cost effectively, ensuring projects run on time and to budget.
Meet set budget targets.
Follow-up on customer payments, ensuring the payment terms are met.
Proactively review products and services used by the company in an effort to reduce outgoing costs.
Knowledge and Skills
An experienced Supervisor with proven work experience in a similar role.
A full, clean, UK driving Licence.
Able to liaise with management at all levels and provide sound technical advice/opinion when requested to do so.
Ability to challenge clients with professional technical advice when required.
The ability to train and guide others in a wide variety of landscaping disciplines.
A good working knowledge of Health & Safety.
Wide knowledge of all general landscape practices.
The ability to manage others in the same environment and mentor/develop apprentices.
Computer Literacy, the ability to use excel, word and various other programs.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of both Millboard and Trex composite decking.
