We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our team as an Apprentice Library Support Assistant. Primarily based at Lewsey Farm Library, you'll play a key role in delivering excellent customer service and supporting the day-to-day operations of our library services. You will gain practical experience, develop key skills and earn a nationally recognised qualification.
The apprenticeship has a duration of 18 months and on successful completion could potentially lead to a contractual position.
24 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting customers with book loans, returns, and general enquiries
Supporting users with digital services and library IT systems
Helping to maintain an organised, welcoming library environment
Supporting events, activities, and reading programmes for all age groups
Working as part of a friendly team to promote reading and lifelong learning
Essential Requirements:
A friendly, approachable manner and strong communication skills
Flexibility to work on a casual basis, including evenings and weekends
Basic IT skills and a willingness to learn new systems
A commitment to excellent customer service and community engagement
Previous experience in a customer-facing role is desirable but not essential

Qualifications required;
- Functional skills Level 1, GCSE grades D/3 or above in English and Maths.
Due to the nature of this post the successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check.
