HR & Training Manager
, this role requires strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail in administrative work. Your main objective is to keep the office a welcoming, organized and well-resourced space, so that staff, volunteers and visitors to our offices, experience our values of Love, Grace, and Welcome. You will be someone who enjoys working with people and being part of a team.
This is an exciting newly created role that we anticipate will be varied but key responsibilities will include:
Manage office supplies, including stationery and consumables
Responsibility for the booking for the conference room, including provision of refreshments and keeping the space well stocked.
Responsibility for smooth running of the Team Hub including ensuring it is fully stocked with refreshments provided to enhance the experience of staff and volunteers
Support the HR & Training Manager with coordination of training and new starter process including setting up work stations, ordering of new uniform
Oversee the maintenance and repair of office equipment, liaising with service providers as needed.
Answer, screen, and direct phone calls.
Assist with welcoming visitors to the Cathedral office
Ensure the building and in particular the communal areas are tidy, safe, organised, and well-stocked.
Management of incoming and outgoing post
Provide administrative assistance across departments, including minute taking, documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
Assist with data entry, filing, and maintaining office records both paper and digital
Support the organisation of internal events such as team meetings and workshops, and meetings with external partners
Assist in coordinating cathedral events.
There is also potential for this role to be developed further in line with the Cathedral's Strategic Plan.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate

Knowledge of office administration responsibilities, systems, and procedures.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word.
Excellent organisational and planning skills

Strong time-management skills, ensuring deadlines are met and schedules run smoothly.
Ability to adapt and effective problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion.

Learning and Safeguarding
You will be willing to:
Participate in all relevant training offered by the Cathedral and remain up to date with best practice and new initiatives.
Complete all required safeguarding training.
Attend training courses and meetings as required, staying informed of legislative changes and opportunities for personal development.
All employees and volunteers must complete basic safeguarding and Action Counter Terrorism training.
Supervision and support can be offered to those in their early career who are wanting to learn and develop their skills, or this could be an interesting and fulfilling role for those looking for a change in their career path.

Working Pattern
This is a
full time
role, job share would be considered.
Hours: 37.5 (9am-5pm)
Please note that this role may require some occasional heavy lifting eg re-setting of meeting rooms.
Remuneration
Salary:
24,570, subject to increase from April 2026
Holidays:
28 days including bank holidays,
Pension:
5% matched contribution plus an additional 5% non-contributory
