We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Office Manager to oversee daily administrative operations within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing office functions, supervising staff, and ensuring smooth communication across departments. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and proficiency with office management tools such as Sage 50 Accounts, Outlook. The Office Manager will play a vital role in maintaining an efficient work environment and supporting organisational growth.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping (sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank reconciliation).
Prepare and send customer invoices; ensure accuracy of job information.
Credit control -- monitor payments, chase overdue accounts, maintain customer relationships.
Process supplier invoices and payments; maintain accurate records.
Prepare VAT returns and assist with year-end information for accountants.
Payroll preparation (hours, timesheets, deductions).
Supervise administrative staff and coordinate team management activities
Manage Human Resources functions including recruitment, onboarding, and employee records
Monitor office supplies inventory and coordinate procurement when necessary
Support organisational projects and initiatives to promote continuous improvement
Maintain effective communication channels within the organisation and with external Suppliers and Customers
Ensure the business is compliant with required paperwork and documentation.
Requirements
Proven experience in the use of Sage 50 Accounts is essential
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in MS Office Suite is desired
Experience in human resources management and team supervision
Ability to lead a team, motivate staff, and foster a collaborative work environment
Previous experience in office or organisational management is essential
Proven experience in bookkeeping / accounts (e.g., Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper, Office Manager).
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping processes and Sage accounting software.
Excellent organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage a busy workload.
Confident communicator with a professional and friendly manner.
Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, email, general admin systems).
