Full-time, Permanent

Mon- Friday, with on-call responsibilities and occasional night/weekend shifts and voluntary overtime.

50,000.00-60,000.00 (Experience Dependent) with performance bonus opportunities

As the Registered Manager you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations and ensuring the highest standards of care. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:



Lead, motivate, and manage a team of staff, ensuring professional development through training and supervision. Promote a culture of trauma-informed and person-centred care. Providing strong leadership for your team of dedicated staff, inspiring them to deliver exceptional care, and creating a positive and inclusive working environment.

Compliance:



Ensuring the service meets all regulatory and legislative requirements, adhering to relevant standards and guidelines, and maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety including meeting the company's core values. Develop, implement, and regularly review policies and procedures to ensure alignment with all regulatory and legislative requirements, adhering to relevant standards and guidelines, and maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety including meeting the company's core values. Prepare for and lead the service through the Ofsted inspection process, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement. Maintain effective oversight of the home setting, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Care Planning:



Overseeing the development and implementation of personalised care plans, tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each service user. To ensure that the rights are upheld of all the children within the home. Implement and maintain robust safeguarding policies to protect service users from harm, ensuring all concerns are addressed promptly. Promote the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of service users through trauma-informed approaches.

Staff Training and Development:



Identifying training needs, organising appropriate training sessions, and promoting continuous professional development for the team. Develop your own knowledge and practice to deliver continuous service improvement. Maintain and develop effective working relationships with all team members for the service. Oversee recruitment processes, ensuring all staff possess the necessary skills and qualifications. Conduct regular performance appraisals and promote continuous improvement.

Risk Management:



Proactively identifying potential risks, implementing risk management strategies, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for both service users and staff.

Stakeholder Engagement:



Work in partnership with external stakeholders to provide and maximise opportunities for residents and build a strong support network. Ensure communication and links with all internal and external stakeholders and building and maintaining effective relationships with service users, their families, external agencies, and local authorities to ensure the best possible outcomes for our service users. Encourage residents' participation in community activities to promote social inclusion and independence.

Operational and Financial Management:



Manage provided budgets effectively to ensure the efficient use of resources without compromising care quality. Conduct regular risk assessments to maintain a safe living and working environment. Ensure accurate and up-to-date records are maintained in line with confidentiality and data protection regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

Qualifications: You should hold a relevant professional qualification in health and social care (e.g., NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care) or an equivalent qualification, or commitment to complete within 2 years.

Experience: Previous experience in managing a complex residential service for children with learning disabilities diagnosis or a similar care setting is essential.

Children's care home experience: 2 years (required).

Knowledge: A strong understanding of the regulatory requirements and best practices relevant to the service.

Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver outstanding care. Effective organisational and time-management abilities are crucial.

Person Specification



Essential Criteria



Qualifications



Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or commitment to complete within 2 years - Application/Certificates

Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent Application/Certificates

Experience



At least 2 years of experience in residential care within the last 5 years Application/References

At least 1 year of experience supervising and managing professional staff Application/References

Knowledge



Understanding of the Guide to the Children's Homes Regulations including the quality standards, 2015 - Interview

Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding children - Application/Interview

Skills
